Outlook calendar integration: keep all events in one calendar

Now, you can integrate the calendar in iSpring Learn into Microsoft Outlook, and learners using corporate email in Outlook will see training events and webinars assigned in iSpring Learn in their work calendar. This will help your learners remember upcoming events and organize their time effectively.

To enable this option, administrators need to connect Outlook to their iSpring Learn account. Here’s how to do that: Head over to "Settings," select the "Integrations" section, choose Microsoft Outlook Calendar, click "Enable," and follow the instructions.

Supervisor dashboard: streamline tracking learner performance

With the new supervisor dashboard, tracking learner progress has become easier than ever. Now you can see real-time statistics on individual and department learning progress.

This provides a handy way for team managers to supervise the training process, and define which learners complete their training tasks in a timely manner, which lag behind and need encouragement, and who hasn’t entered the LMS for a long time and requires a helpful nudge.

Track the History of Training Participation

Previously, when you enrolled a learner in a new session, the information on the previous sessions was deleted and you couldn’t track how many sessions the learner had attended or missed.

Now, you can keep this information intact and view a learner’s entire attendance history. Thus, you’ll be able to verify how many sessions of a specific training a learner has attended. Read help docs to learn how to set up this feature.

360-Degree Performance Appraisal: Discover Employees’ True Competencies

With this new module, iSpring Learn collects feedback in a 360-degree survey format — an employee's professional skills are assessed by everyone they work with: from subordinates to managers. This allows you to see an employee’s competencies from different angles, identify their strong points and areas that require growth, and understand how they fit their job.

Please note: The 360-degree performance appraisal module is not included in the iSpring Learn subscription and requires an additional charge. You can try this new feature for free for 14 days! Read more about the new module here →

Asking Questions Directly Within a Course

Now, there is a ‘‘Questions and Responses” tab in the iSpring Learn app for iOS. This option lets users ask questions about the course, not only in private messages to the expert, but right on the course page.

This communication tool is switched on by default, and you can enable/disable it in Settings → Additional Options → User Portal → Enable Questions and Responses.

The new version of iSpring Learn is available in the App Store. Android users already enjoy this option.

New video playback speed controls

Now learners can easily modify video playback speed in iSpring Learn LMS by choosing to make it faster or slower. To do this, the viewer just needs to click the speed icon in the lower right corner of the player and sel ect an appropriate value for playback speed from 0.5x (half speed) to 2x (double speed).

For example, if the presenter speaks too slowly, you can speed up the original playback of the video and save time this way. And if the tutor on the screen shows specific actions you want to repeat, just slow down the playback to take a good look at a process.

Please note: changing the speed of playback is currently available on desktop and mobile browsers, and not in mobile apps. We are working to improve our mobile app, so stay tuned!

Managing course completion status

If a learner completed a course prior to your adding new material, their course status remains “Completed.” But if you need to have that learner study the newly added material, you can update the course status easily.

Track results for each quiz question with ease

Now you can get stats on correct and incorrect answers for each question. The Learner Results by Question report shows you the overall percentage of correct responses on a specific question and lets you see how each learner answers it — correctly or incorrectly.

This helps you identify the questions that many learners fail to answer correctly. You can add learners to a group and assign them additional training on a topic that is challenging for them — all directly from the report.

Identify Employees’ Knowledge Gaps with the New Quiz Report

Now you can get detailed test result data with a new report, "Learner Results by Question Group." The report shows the number of correct and incorrect answers the employee has earned on a specific group of questions. For example, in product knowledge training, you can immediately see which products employees know better and which ones they’re less familiar with.

Smart course sorting

Now, courses and learning tracks in the learner portal are sorted in a new way. Your trainees will see the courses assigned to them by their instructor or administrator first, in order of due date. After those, they’ll see the content that learners have added from the Catalog on their own. This helps your employees focus on learning tasks based on their priority and avoid getting distracted by additional content if the assigned courses have not been completed yet. This new sorting option is in effect for both desktop and mobile devices.
