Principal Research Scientist and Quality Manager at AEGIC

AEGIC’s mission is to deliver market support, trusted insights, education, and solutions that unlock opportunities, drive growth, and create enduring value for the Australian grains industry and its markets.

AEGIC collaborates with flour mills and grain buyers across Asia (Indonesia, China, Vietnam, and many others) to ensure that customers fully benefit from the high quality of Australian grain. This partnership also results in valuable feedback for Australian farmers, traders, and plant breeders regarding emerging consumer and market demands.

To help international flour mills optimize their use of Australian grain, AEGIC runs face-to-face workshops. As our reach grows across Asia, we need a scalable eLearning solution that can handle multiple languages, deliver engaging video content, and satisfy some government requirements to complement our in-person workshops and courses.

The Challenge: Scaling high-quality training internationally

AEGIC continues to offer in-person market support and education in wheat quality and milling, which are valued by customers. However, face-to-face training is expensive and challenging to scale, especially in some markets. A solution was needed that could complement AEGIC’s in-person milling educational offerings while reaching more people.

“We run face-to-face courses, which are effective but expensive — and we needed to reach more people.”

The company needed an online learning solution that could be easily adapted for different languages, rolled out rapidly, and tracked for government and grant compliance. Ian Wesley started looking into various eLearning platforms. The goal was to test their features and evaluate how well each could support multilingual content, video delivery, and detailed reporting across geographically dispersed locations.

The Solution: iSpring Learn

AEGIC chose iSpring Learn for its robust feature set and intuitive UI. What Ian Wesley especially liked about the platform was global language compatibility, quick learning content delivery, and a user-friendly experience. With iSpring, AEGIC quickly launched a series of comprehensive video courses in English, Indonesian, and other languages.

Outstanding scalability for rapid user base growth

Currently, AEGIC is expanding to the Chinese market, where the potential user base is thousands of users. This move builds on the success of previous rollouts in Indonesia, where the company already sees a strong presence and engagement.

Thanks to iSpring Learn’s scalable infrastructure, the organization can onboard large numbers of learners in stages. The platform also allows AEGIC to manage user groups by region and language and ensure smooth delivery without overwhelming internal teams.

“The potential scale of this rollout is unlike anything we’ve done before, but with iSpring, we know the platform can handle it.”

Offline learning to solve local connectivity challenges

AEGIC is also anticipating and proactively managing challenges associated with the Chinese market, including internet restrictions and firewall limitations. To tackle this, AEGIC relies on offline mobile learning capabilities in iSpring Learn.

The mobile app allows learners to download entire courses directly to their smartphones or tablets and access them anytime with no need for an uninterrupted internet connection. This feature is effective in ensuring training continuity, where infrastructure may be unreliable or government firewalls restrict access. It’s also easy to use and allows for quick synchronization with the LMS once the connection is regained.

Ian tested the mobile learning feature himself to assess usability and storage needs firsthand.

“I downloaded the courses in three different languages to my Android phone, and they didn’t take up much space at all. That’s incredibly helpful for users with limited device storage.”

LMS reporting and custom surveys for strategic improvement

To meet government compliance and better understand learner needs, AEGIC uses iSpring Learn’s survey features and reporting tools extensively. Before learners begin the course, they complete a custom-built demographic survey created in iSpring QuizMaker. This helps the company gather important data on age, job roles, company affiliation, and accessibility requirements.

“At the beginning of the Indonesia project, we had to collect a whole load of demographic and accessibility data. It was really great to be able to show the government stakeholders exactly how we’d collect it — right through iSpring.”

AEGIC also runs a detailed post-course survey to collect learner feedback. The survey includes Likert-scale questions and open-ended responses, giving the team a clear view of training effectiveness and areas for improvement.

iSpring’s built-in reporting makes it easy to automate this process and deliver updates to stakeholders. Each week, automated reports are sent to designated training contacts, allowing companies to track employee participation, quiz performance, and overall engagement.

iSpring Suite’s authoring capabilities for learning content creation

While AEGIC provides time-proven, standardized video training to global partners, Ian is now exploring new ways of creating and delivering supplemental content for better knowledge retention and engagement.

The main course videos are created in collaboration with a television production company. These are high quality and, consequently, expensive to produce. To remain cost-efficient, AEGIC is planning to build extra learning in-house using iSpring Suite. The authoring tool makes putting together interactive training with internal resources both quick and simple, giving the team more freedom to experiment.

For example, Ian is considering short, audio-based Q&A sessions with experts to answer common technical questions. These would be easy to create, engaging, and a smart way to keep learners coming back.

“I jotted down an idea — to create quick audio pieces where we talk to experts and answer specific learner questions. That could be a really great way to keep users interested and improve training outcomes, and iSpring Suite could help us do it in-house.”

The team also has a library of technical documents stored on internal servers. This material could be turned into short, easily digested training content. With iSpring Suite, they have a way to refine the content and share it with learners effortlessly via the iSpring Learn LMS. This provides AEGIC with a flexible, efficient way to keep its training library growing.

Results

Since implementing iSpring Learn, AEGIC has expanded its global training outreach. Ian and his team have successfully onboarded large milling enterprises across Southeast Asia. Hundreds of industry professionals across Asia have benefited from AEGIC’s highly interactive training courses.

Learners consistently report satisfaction rates of over 80%. They praise both the engaging course content and the intuitive usability of the iSpring LMS platform. Automated reporting simplified the organization’s compliance tasks thanks to the easy tracking of learner demographics, course completions, and training effectiveness.

Moving forward, AEGIC plans to expand to more international markets. The team is excited to use iSpring’s eLearning products to develop and deliver ongoing professional development materials, including mini-courses, podcasts, and industry updates.
