What makes an effective educational video? Our new expert webinar will suggest answers based on academic research and current best practices.

Dominik Lukeš from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, will share useful tips on video production and explain the role of scripts, graphics, context, and length in creating effective videos.

Some key questions that will be covered:

  • What video format should educators choose?
  • Should a video use a script?
  • What is the importance of production value?
  • What is the role of supporting graphics and text?
  • What is the importance of community and context for successful video?

About the presenter

Dominik Lukes

His interests include open education, online collaborative communities, MOOCs, podcasting, and innovative uses of video conferencing. He has run workshops on educational video creation and has organized a conference on the Use of Video in Higher Education. Dominik ran his first connectivist MOOC in 2012 on Inclusive Technologies for Reading and is currently running an xMOOC that helps Czech teachers create open online content and present MOOCs.
