You can either add a totally silent fragment to your audio clip or silence an existing fragment.

Adding Silence

Sometimes, you may need to insert a piece of silence at a specific point in the audio clip:

To insert some seconds of silence at any place of your audio:

  1. Put the cursor where you'd like to add silence.

  2. Click the Silence button on the toolbar or hit Ins on your keyboard.

  3. As the result, you will see the dialog box where you can indicate the silence duration (in seconds and milliseconds). When you click OK, the silence will be added to the selected place.

Silencing Fragment of Clip

You can silence unwanted sounds, for example, knocking or mumbling in the background. This option can also be useful if you have added an audio clip and background sound from the playlist to the same slide and want to hear only the sound from one audio stream.

  1. Select a fragment of audio in the timeline.
  2. Click Silence on the editor toolbar or press the Ins button on the keyboard. The contents of the selected area will be converted into silence.
