You can add not only learning materials but also trainings to your courses — both offline and online. For example, while taking the Sales Onboarding course, learners will view the video on company products on their own and will practice how to sell them during a training that will be conducted in real-time by an experienced salesperson.

To add a training into a course:

  1. Open a course and click on the Add button. Next, click the Training icon.

  2. In the Add a Learning Item window, choose which trainings you need: upcoming or past.

  3. Next, enter the training name in the search bar and click on the plus next to the desired training.

  4. The selected training will be moved to the Selected Learning Items section.

  5. As soon as the list of trainings you want to add to the course is ready, click Add.

  6. One or more trainings have now been added to the course.

Notes:

  1. You can only add existing trainings into a course. That’s why it is important to create the training beforehand.

  2. A training can be added to a course only once.

  3. In the Add a Learning Item window, you can select which trainings you will search for: upcoming (by default) or past. In this case, the search will be conducted only through one selected section.

  4. In the Add a Learning Item window, a user will see the trainings that they created, as well as the trainings that were created by users from the departments that the user manages.

  5. The trainings in the Add a Learning Item window are visible to users who have permission to view trainings.

  6. If a user doesn't have permission to edit trainings, they won't be able to change the title or description of a training.

The title and the description of a training are identical for a standalone training and for the same training that is included in a course. You can go to edit a training right from the course.

  7. A user can be enrolled in the same training both within a course and separately (a standalone enrollment).

  8. One user can have multiple enrollments in the same training. For example, a user can be enrolled in a training separately and as a part of a course/multiple courses

  9. On the Participants tab of a training, you will see both users enrolled in trainings included in a course and separate trainings.

  10. Let's suppose that two different courses include the same training. We'll enroll the same user in both courses. If this user is enrolled in the same training session within both courses (or chooses the same sessions on their own), the stats on the session in the reports will be registered jointly.

  11. When you add a training to a course, the following properties and settings of a standalone training will be maintained:
notifications arriving X days before the training, about the training being started, training cancellation, and changing them
the title and the description of the training
    • the cover image
    • the organizer

  12. When you enroll users on a course with a training, a course enrollment notification will be sent to them. The notification about the training having been assigned is not sent out to users.
