To create a report template:

  1. Run a report and click Save as Template.

  2. Next, enter the template name. Its length shouldn't exceed 255 characters.

  3. The report template is saved with the established set of filters and columns. Now you can easily locate it in the My Reports section and track users' results.

Important:

  1. If the original report contained filters by dates, they will be applied every time the report template is reopened.

    • the selected time range (from...to) will remain the same. For example, you had set the Start Date filter to the time range lasting from April 1 to April 10; every time you open the report, you will see the data for that selected period: April 1 - 10.

    • if you chose one of the preset values (like Last Week or Last Month, etc), the results will be shown for the specified period relative to the current date.

Let's say, you have set the Start Date filter to This month. If you open the template in May, you will see the results for the month of May, and if you open it in July, then the report will be populated with July data.

  2. If you remove values chosen for the unremovable and unchangeable User filter from the account, the template won't open.

Let's say, you created a report template entitled Nick Moore's Results. It displays data on Nick Moore's progress, and, naturally, "Nick Moore" is selected in the unremovable and unchangeable User filter.

If you remove this user from the account and try to open the report template, the report won't open and you will see an error message prompting you to delete the needless template.

  3. The same thing occurs if the template owner doesn't have permission to view data on a user.

For example, Account Administrator saved a report template with the results of Brian Richards, who belongs to the Developers department.

Next, the template owner role was changed to Department Administrator, who doesn't have permission to manage the Developers department.

When the user clicks the template in the My Reports section, the report will not open.

  4. The template is not dependent on the original report. You can change filters, columns, and sorting parameters in the report or in the original template as you wish, as they won't influence each other.

  5. The report template is available to the user who created it. The My Reports section will contain only those templates that were created in this account.

  6. If there aren't any saved reports in the account, the My Reports section won't be displayed.
