Select in which order learners will study the courses in your learning track. By default, users start taking courses a certain number of days after they are enrolled in the track. But sometimes you may prefer a sequential or free order of course completion.

  1. On the Edit Learning Track page, open the Outline tab and open the Course completion order menu.

  2. Now select one of the completion order options and click Apply. Be default, the By days option is chosen.

    By days

Every course has its own enrollment date and due date.

    Sequential

Learners proceed to study a course only after the previous course is completed.

    Free

All the courses are available after the learning track is assigned to users, and they can take any of them at any moment.

Set up the completion date for any completion order option. If you have chosen the By days option, also, feel free to select the enrollment date.

Enrollment Date

By default, the enrollment date of a course in a learning track is Day 0. This means that the course is available to take right after you have assigned the track to a learner.

However, it's more convenient to open the courses to the user one by one. Let's set up the enrollment date for the 'What Does a Digital Marketer Do' course.

Due Date

By default, courses aren't limited in time, but, if you wish, you can easily set up a due date for the courses in your learning track.

You can also block or allow access to courses after their due date. If you select Restrict access After due date, access to the course will be blocked at the expiration date. When you select Do not restrict, the materials will remain accessible to learners.

Examples

For example, the Our Products learning track consists of equally-weighted courses, and each of them describes software solutions that are developed by the company. In this case, choose the free course completion order, and a technical support agent who is enrolled in the learning track will study its courses randomly.

Sometimes, a learning track contains courses that are tightly connected to one another and can be studied one by one only. Let's take the Email Marketing learning track as an example. It's actually quite logical that first learners need to study the A Step-by-Step Guide to Sending Bulk Mailings Course and only after doing so proceed to the Top 10 Email Marketing Tools course. For such a learning track, select the sequential course completion order.
