The Pyramid interaction is a great way to illustrate the organizational structure of your company or represent an online store sales funnel. As the name implies, the interaction has an appearance of a pyramid: normal or inverted, depending on the aim of the interaction-making.

Pyramid Properties

  1. To start editing display and navigation settings of the pyramid, click Properties on the iSpring Visuals toolbar.

  2. In the Customization window, you can change the pyramid settings and check how the modified interaction will look like for your learners.

TitleAdd the interaction name that will be shown on the slides.
Pyramid positionSelect a part of the slide where the pyramid will be positioned: left or right.
Pyramid typeSpecify the type of your pyramid: normal or inverted. If the pyramid is normal, its apex will be on the top of it and its base — at the bottom. In case the pyramid is inverted, the apex and the base will be positioned vice versa.
Text animationChoose an effect for the texts that accompany layers of the pyramid. There are two types of animation available: Push and fade and Fade. Also, you can completely disable animation effects for the texts.
Group navigationSpecify in which direction your learners will study the pyramid layers: From top to bottom or From bottom to top.
Navigation buttons display Enable or disable the navigation buttons of the interaction.

  3. Click Apply & Close on the toolbar to save the changes.

Adding Layers

  1. To add a new layer, click the Add layer button on the toolbar.

  2. A new layer will appear on the pyramid and in the Segments list. A new segment will be added to the layer automatically.

You can add up to 10 layers.

Adding Segments

  1. To add a new segment to a layer, select the layer and click the Add Segment button on the toolbar.

  2. A new segment will appear in the Segments list and on the pyramid.

  3. Enter the segment title and description. This is what the users will see on the slide for this segment.

  4.  You can change the segment title right on the pyramid. To change it, double-click the segment.

In the pop-up, enter the new title. It may differ from the segment title entered in the text editing area.

  5. Add extra content to the segment description: image, video, an audio track, text, character, background or an object. To do this, go to the Insert tab and select the option you need. To make the tab appear, place the cursor into the segment description area.

You can add up to 8 layers.

Changing Layer Color

To change the layer color, select it in the Segments list and click the Layer Color button on the toolbar.

Choose one of the default colors in the Theme Colors window.

If you can't find an appropriate color, pick one in the More colors window.

In the Colors window you can:

  1. Choose one of the default or recently used colors.

  2. Choose a color on the color scale.

  3. Enter the RGB values.

  4. Enter the color code manually.

  5. Use the Eyedropper tool.

Select the layer you want to change the color of. It can be an area outside of the iSpring Visuals window.

    Click the Eyedropper tool icon.

Place the tool onto the slide area you want to copy the color of.

Left-click and the selected layer will change its color.

Arranging Layers and Segments

The order presented in the Segments list will be the order the users see the segments in when navigating inside the interaction using the navigation buttons (Next and Previous).

To change the order of the layers and the segments, select a layer or a segment and drag it along the Segments list to place it in another position. To select multiple layers or segments at once, hold the Ctrl button on the keyboard and select the layers or segments.

You can move the layers and the segments using the Move up and Move down buttons in the context menu. To open the context menu, right-click the layer or the segment in the Segments list.

The third way to move the layers or the segments is to select a layer or a segment in the Segments list and click the Move button on the toolbar. Then, choose the direction of the movement, for a layer: Up or Down, for a segment: Up, Down, Left or Right.

Duplicating Layers and Segments

To create a duplicate of a layer or a segment, click the Duplicate button in the context menu. An identical layer or a segment will appear on the pyramid and in the Segments list.

Deleting Layers and Segments

To remove a layer or a segment, select it in the list and click the Delete button on the toolbar, on the keyboard or in the context menu.

Adding Introduction and Summary

To add an introduction and a summary to your interaction, tick the boxes above and below the layers and the segments in the Segments list.

Add a title and a description to the introduction and the summary in the editing area.
