You can replace content items in an iSpring Learn course without losing the results learners have already achieved. You can improve design, correct misprints, and add new slides, quizzes, and role-plays.

If a user opens an updated course that has already been completed, the result for the course will not be reset. iSpring Learn will save the user's best result.

Replacing Content when Publishing

  1. Make changes to the content and click Publish.

  2. In the Publish Presentation window, select the iSpring Learn tab.

  3. Select the project that has the content you want to replace. To do this, click Browse in the Course field.

  4. Select the project and click Select.

  5. Next, publish the new content to your iSpring Learn account. To do this, click Publish.

A dialog window will appear prompting you to overwrite the existing course. Click Yes.

iSpring Suite will update the content, and you'll be able to start managing it.

In the opened course, you will see the new version of the course.

If a learner relaunches the course, they will see a message that the content was updated.

Preserving Completion Status

If a user opens an updated content that was completed and takes it again, the previous result will not be reset. If the course is taken again, the score will remain the same or will be improved if a user gets more points.  iSpring Learn will show the best result of all attempts in the report and in the user portal.

Note

  • The status is saved only for standalone content and content created as a part of a course.

  • When you update subcontent of a presentation like quizzes, role-plays, interactions, the presentation status
will remain aCompleted and the status for the subcontent will be reset.

  • All content versions that were taken by the user are listed in the My Training History section.

  • You can replace content only with the content of the same type. For example: presentations created in iSpring Suite can only be replaced with presentations, role-plays with role-plays, quizzes with quizzes, etc.

  • When replacing content that is a linked copy, the content will be replaced in all the courses to which the original content was copied.
