You view others and nothing is clear to you. Why? There are lots of reasons for that and one of them is the coloring. Background and text colors choice is very important and can either help you to make your presentation easy to understand or spoil it since colors influence the perception greatly. So what colors should be chosen? Let’s figure that out!

TL;DR

The article explains how choosing appropriate background and text colors in PowerPoint affects how easily an audience understands a presentation. It recommends blue as a universally effective background, with purple, green, white, or grey also acceptable, and suggests using textures or neutral tones when suitable. If multiple background colors are used, they should be analogous, with one main color and up to three complementary ones, avoiding more than six. Contrasting colors are best; red and green should be avoided due to color blindness concerns. Dark backgrounds with light text improve readability, and yellow can highlight headings.

Talking about background colors blue is considered to be the most effective one since it makes you feel confident and secure. This color is universal and can be used in any presentation. Purple and some variants of green, white or grey are also acceptable as background colors.

Background texture plays a big role as well. There are cases when instead of using a solid color it is better to rely on nice texture and neutral background.

If you use several background colors it is better to use analogous ones, so that the person who views your presentation concentrates on your message.

For the maximum impact it is better to use one main background color and 3 additional ones, but no more than 6. Contrasting colors will be the best choice. Be careful though, combination of red and green is not a good one. Some people suffer from color blindness and red-green is the most popular.

So, dark background plus lighter color for text is the best choice for your presentation.
