During the previous couple of months, you’ve most likely been receiving emails from brands and companies where they talk about changes in their Privacy Policy. The reason for this is that on May 25, 2018, the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) will come into force.

The GDPR is a new European Union law that regulates how businesses collect, interact with, and store clients’ personal data. The GDPR applies to all EU-based organizations and also to companies outside the EU that offer goods and services to EU-based individuals.

iSpring takes privacy seriously and has always treated clients’ personal data according to the highest security standards. With respect to the GDPR, we store all the data of those who are in the EU or Switzerland on secure servers in Germany. If you’re elsewhere, your data is stored in the United States.

To make our privacy practices more transparent and compliant with the upcoming regulation changes, we’re updating our Privacy Policy effective May 25th, 2018.

The key changes are:

  • The new Privacy Policy gives you a comprehensive understanding of which information we collect, how and for what purposes we use it, for how long we store it, and the legal bases for processing. Plus, it describes how you can control your personal data which is processed by iSpring, e.g., completely delete it or make amendments.
  • The Privacy Policy also clarifies how we treat personal data when 3 parties are involved. For example, there is a quite common situation when a company which owns an iSpring Learn LMS account adds sensitive info to content items or to their employees’ or clients’ profiles. The important thing here is that in this case, the account owner acts as a data controller as well, and thus has legal responsibilities in regards to keeping this data safe and protected.
  • Plus, to make it easier to find the necessary info in the Privacy Policy, we’ve added a convenient table of contents with links. Now, you can quickly go to the section you need.

These are just the most significant updates. Please check out the complete Privacy Policy for more details.

As always, we’re committed to keeping customers’ data secure and using it in an ethical and lawful way. If you’d like to learn more about the Privacy Policy updates, please send your request to support@ispringsolutions.com.
