How to restrict skipping questions in iSpring QuizMaker
Some quizzes require each question to be answered as soon as it is given to the learner. Usually it’s used in a linear scenario but also can be applied to a randomized question pool. How can you control a learner’s ability to skip a question for answering it later? There is a handy option in iSpring QuizMaker’s settings that controls this functionality. It’s called Allow users to postpone questions, and is turned on by default. If you turn it off, a user’s progress through a quiz will stall unless the user gives an answer to the question.

Here’s how you can access this option:
-
1
Open a quiz and click the Properties button.
-
2
Switch to the Navigation tab and uncheck the option Allow user to postpone questions. Click OK to confirm your selection and close the Properties window.
Note: This option can be used only when Submit one question at a time is chosen. The option Submit all at once has another related sub-option that doesn’t allow users to finish a quiz without giving an answer to each question.
-
3
Now click the Player button on the toolbar.
-
4
Turn off the option Display question list, so users can’t leave the question by selecting another question from the list.
Now you know how to disallow skipping questions to create stricter quiz scenarios. It may be useful to apply this option to important quizzes like final qualifications or annual assessments.
