PowerPoint to Flash converter

The general syntax of the command line is as follows:


flashspringse.exe <command> [conversion options] <source PPT> <destination SWF> [<source PPT> <destination SWF>....]

Description

flashspringse.exe Shows the brief information about command line syntax.
<command> Conversion command.
[conversion options] The options of conversion.
<source PPT> The path to the original PowerPoint presentation.
<destination SWF/folder> The path to output Flash format file. When exporting in a set of Flash clips it is treated as path to output directory.

List of available commands

make-solid-swf <source ppt> <destination swf> s Converts presentation into a solid Flash movie.
make-slides <source ppt> <destination folder> l Converts presentation into a set of Flash files.
save-thumbnails <source ppt> <destination folder> t Saves thumbnails of the slides.

Note: most of commands and options have short synonyms that can be used to accelerate and facilitate the use of FlashSpring Server commands

List of conversion options


Registration options

Key Short key Default value Description
--license <license name> <license number> -l none Specifies the license registration name and license serial number. You must specify these parameters every time you start working with FlashSpring Server.

Note: these 2 parameters are necessary to remove the watermark from produced Flash movies. If these parameters are absent or invalid, the watermark is shown.

Output file options

Key Short key Default value Description
--range <slide indices> -r none Specifies indices of the slides to be processed. If this option is not specified, all slides of your presentation will be converted into Flash format.
--zip -z none Zips generated Flash movie. If it is used with make-solid-swf command it will generate zip file instead of swf file. If this option is used with make-slides command it will generate zip file with presentation name.
--screen-size <width> <height> New feature -ss none Optimize images for screen with given width and height.
--printing <on/off> New feature -p on Enable or disable printing of the generated presentation.

Flash movie dimensions options

Key Short key Default value Description
--width <pixels> -w original Specifies Flash movie width (in pixels).
--height <pixels> -h original Specifies Flash movie height (in pixels).
--scale <percentage> -s 100% Specifies Flash movie scale (in percent). This option cannot be used together with width and height options.

Note: the width and the height of a flash movie are set independently therefore non-proportional width and height values can cause presentation artifact. It is recommended to use scale option.

Quality options

Key Short key Default value Description
--framerate <frames> -f 24 Specifies the number of frames per second. Available values are ranged from 1 to 100 frames per second.
--image-quality <quality> -iq 75 Specifies the quality of graphic images in percent in Flash movie being created. Possible values are ranged from 1 to 100% or can be set as "original" for keeping of original quality of images.
--export-flash<on/off> -ef on Enables export of Flash movies embedded in PowerPoint presentation.
--enable-hyperlinks<on/off> -hl on Enables export of the links to other slides or web-links.
--jpeg-image-quality <quality>New feature -jiq   Specifies the quality of Jpeg or photorealistic images in Flash presentation. Possible values are from 1 to 100, the "original" value keeps image quality unchanged. When this parameter is not specified explicitly, its value is the same as the --image-quality parameter value.
--gif-image-quality <quality>New feature -giq   Specifies the quality of animated GIF images. Possible values are from 1 to 100, the "original" value keeps image quality unchanged. When this parameter is not specified explicitly, its value is the same as the --image-quality parameter value.

Playback options

--shape-animations <on/off> -a on Enables export of animation effects from PowerPoint to Flash.
--transition-effects <on/off> -t on Enables export of slide transition effects from PowerPoint to Flash. This option doesn't work with make-slides command.
--loop-presentation <on/off> -lp off Indicates whether presentation playback loops continuously until the user presses ESC

Advance options

--click-advance-type <slide/step> -ct step Specifies what advance type is performed on mouse click.
--enable-keyboard-navigation <on/off> -k on Enables or disables slide navigation on keyboard.
--step-advance-time <seconds> -st 5 Sets the certain pause time, in seconds, before advance to the next animation item.
--auto-slide-advance <on/off> -la on Enables or disables automatic advance to the next slide.
--slide-advance-time <seconds> -lt 5 Sets the certain pause time, in seconds, before advance to the next slide.

Audio options

--export-audio <on/off> -ea on Enables export of sounds embedded in PowerPoint presentation.
--audio-bitrate <kbit/s> or "original" -ab 128 Specifies audio quality. Available values are 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 160, 192, 224, 254, 320 or "original" (without quotes).

Video options

--export-video <on/off> -ev on Enables export of video embedded in PowerPoint presentation.
--video-bitrate <kbit/s> or "original" -vb 400 Specifies video quality in your Flash movie. The lower quality of video objects, the smaller the size of your Flash presentation.

Appearance options

--bgcolor <color> -b #FFFFFF Specifies background color for presentation in #RRGGBB format.
--skin <skin name> none none Specifies skin name for the Player. If this option is not specified, presentation will be converted without visible Player.
--fullscreen -fs none If this option is specified, Flash Presentation with player will work in full screen mode
--hsl-primary <hue> <saturation> <lightness> none 0 0 0 Specifies hue, saturation and lightness adjustments for primary player color. The possible values for these parameters are in range from -100 to +100 percent
--hyperlinks-target _self/_blank/<custom frame> -ht _self Opens hyperlinks in specified browser window.
--smooth-images <on/off>New feature -si on Enables of disables smoothing of raster images.
--flash-version <version>New feature -fv 7 Specifies Flash Player version required for viewing the presentation. <version> is an integer from 7 to 9.

Thumnails options

--width <pixels> -w original Specifies width of exported thumbnails in pixels.
--height <pixels> -h original Specifies height of exported thumbnails in pixels.
--format <jpg/png/bmp/gif> -f jpg Specifies file format of exported thumbnails. You can save thumbnails in jpg, png, bmp or wmf formats.
--prefix <thumbnail file name prefix> -p thumb Specifies prefix for file names for thumbnails.
--quality <percent> -q 75 Specifies compression level for JPG thumbnails.
--log <log file name> none none Specifies log file name for export process of thumbnails.

Miscellaneous options

--cpu <percentage> none 100 Specifies a maximum percentage of CPU utilization during conversion. Available values are in range from 10 to 100.
--verbose -v none Show information about conversion progress.
--log <file path> none none Specifies the log file path.
--temp <folder path> none Current user temporary
files folder.
Specifies folder for temporary files.
--xml <file name> -x none Generates the xml file where the information about presentation and slides will be stored into.
--settings-file <file path> -sf none Generates the xml file with the FlashSpring settings.
--allowed-domain <domain name> -ad * Specifies a domain name from which .swf files can access interfaces provided by ActionScript API.
By default this property is set to "*", which means that access from any domain is enabled.
--restricted-domain <domain name> -rd none Specifies a domain name the presentation viewing is restricted by. If non-empty <domain name> parameter was specified, users will be able to view the presentation only on domain with specified name
