Presentation Explorer
New Presentation Explorer is an efficient tool that allows you to set up a presentation
structure and slide advance options,
add presenters and media resources in a single window.
With Presentation Explorer it's easy to add audio and video narrations
or quizzes. You can
edit your presentation slide by slide or apply similar settings to a selected group of
slides using Presentation Explorer toolbar or the right-click context menu.
With iSpring Presentation Explorer you can easily:
- Organize multilevel navigation
- Manage hidden slides
- Edit slide titles
- Assign presenters to slides
- Set playback mode - manual or automatic
- Set slide duration
- Import audio narration to a slide
- Import video narration to a slide
- Add quizzes
Multilevel Navigation
You can adjust the nesting level of slides to organize multilevel navigation in
your presentation with the blue arrow buttons to the right of slide thumbnails:
Available levels will increase each time you move a slide to a subsequent level. For example,
when all slides of your presentation are assigned to the top level (1), you can
add only one nested level (2). Once you move any slide to Level 2, you will be able to move the following slides
to Level 2 or 3 and so on.
Nesting depth of your presentation may reach eight levels. You can collapse and expand
nested slides using "-" and "+" icons to the left of a top level slide.
Hidden Slides
You can mark any slide as hidden by double clicking its thumbnail. Hidden slides are not shown in navigation and thumbnails, and they are skipped during presentation playback. Please note that hidden slides still exist in you Flash presentation and can be accessed using hyperlinks or action buttons on the other slides.
Slide Title
Titles of slides are shown in the Outline tab of Advanced, Crystal and Classic Players. By default, titles are taken from PowerPoint slide titles of the presentation. To change a slide title, double-click it and type a new one. The new titles will be displayed in your Flash presentation navigation, and they can differ from PowerPoint slide titles.
Presenters
To assign a Presenter to the selected slide, double-click Presenter's photo/name and select a different one from a drop-down list of available Presenters. By default a Presenter marked as Default is added to all slides in you presentation. To change a default Presenter, click the Presenters icon on the iSpring toolbar.
Playback mode
You can set up a slide to advance to the next one automatically after a specified period of time, or require a user to click to advance. To change the slide advance type, click the mouse icon (manual mode) or timer (automatic mode) icon.
Slide duration
You can set timing for automatic slide advance in the text field to the right of the slide advance type.
It's also possible to specify duration for a selected group of slides in the corresponding text field on the toolbar.
Note: Slide advance time also depends on "Minimal slide duration"
that can be specified on the Settings tab of the Publish window.
Media
This section allows you to manage external audio, video and a quiz in a slide. As you add media to a slide, the corresponding icons become active to let you play audio / video or edit a quiz.
You can also add audio and video narrations to a slide using the
Import Audio and Import Video buttons on the
iSpring Presenter toolbar.
Note: iSpring Presenter allows you to add only one audio and one video
to a slide. You can also add a background audio for the entire presentation.
You can also record audio and video narration with iSpring Presenter.
Media - Audio
iSpring Presentation Explorer lets you import an audio narration to the selected slide.
To add an audio:
- Click the Import audio narration icon to launch the Windows Explorer.
- Choose the audio you would like to insert. iSpring Presenter supports .MP3, .WMA and .WAV audio file formats.
Selected audio track starts playback automatically. To disable this option, clear the Auto Play checkbox at the bottom of the explorer window.
By default the slide duration is adjusted to the audio file duration. If you clear the Adjust slide duration to fit audio checkbox, PowerPoint timings for animated slides and minimal slide duration for non-animated slides may affect slide duration and your audio may not play to the end.
- Click Open. The audio file will be added to the selected slide.
Media - Video
iSpring Presentation Explorer lets you import video narration to a selected slide.
To insert video to a selected slide, click the Import video narration icon and choose a video file. Supported video file formats are .AVI, .WMV, .MPG and .MP4.
You can preview the video before inserting it to a slide. The selected video starts to play automatically in the explorer viewport. To disable this feature, clear the Auto Play checkbox at the bottom of the explorer window.
Slide duration is adjusted to video duration by default. If you clear the Adjust slide duration to fit video checkbox, PowerPoint settings for animated slides and minimal slide duration for non-animated slides may affect slide duration and your video may fail to play to the end.
By default iSpring creates a folder in a directory with your presentation for all external
resources of PowerPoint presentation and copies the video file into that folder. If you want
to edit or show the presentation on another computer, you can copy the PPT(X) presentation and
the folder with all external resources. All media resources in a Flash presentation are embedded into the
movie and you have a solid SWF file compiled from your presentation. To disable copying media files
to the resource folder, clear the Copy to presentation resource folder checkbox.
Note: audio and quizzes are always copied to the resource folder.
Media - Quiz
iSpring Presentation Explorer allows to insert quizzes into PowerPoint slides using quiz editing buttons. Please refer to QuizMaker documentation to learn more about QuizMaker facilities.
