How to upload your course into Litmos

Litmos is certified to use iSpring SCORM 1.2 courses. See how to author them in the respective article. We went through compliance tests with this advanced LMS and confirmed that these course items show up and report correctly in the Litmos environment.

Follow these steps to upload iSpring course items to Litmos:

  1. 1

Log into Litmos LMS as an administrator or course author.

  2. 2

Open the Courses tab on the left-hand side.

  3. 3

On the right pane, Create a new Course or open an already existing course.

  4. 4

From the Content tab within the course, select Add a module and select Scorm or Tin Can.

  5. 5

Add a description to your SCORM module if you like. Click Choose a File, navigate to the iSpring-created .zip package and select Open. Then click Save.

  6. 6

Then your SCORM file will be uploaded and processed by the system. This process usually takes a couple of minutes but may take longer (up to 30 minutes) if you try to upload a larger .zip file.

  7. 7

When the uploading process is finished, you will see the course in your content list.

The SCORM course has been successfully uploaded into Litmos LMS. Previewing the course within Litmos is a slightly more complicated process and it’s covered below.

How can I preview a course in Litmos?

After you’ve uploaded a course to the LMS, follow these steps to preview the course:

  1. 1

    Open the course.

  2. 2

Switch to the People tab within the course and click Assign to existing people. Find yourself in the list of users and check the box to the left.

  3. 3

Then Switch to learner view from the menu where you see your avatar image at the top.

  4. 4

You will see all the courses that are assigned to you. Open the course that has just been assigned and select Start this course.

  5. 5

The course will be previewed in a popup (or in a lightbox, depending on the course appearance settings).
