How to Add an e-Learning Course into TalentLMS

TalentLMS has gone through compliance tests with iSpring learning courses and we can now confirm that it supports SCORM/xAPI uploading and reporting. Check out how to create a learning package with iSpring.

Just follow this tutorial on how to get your SCORM package into TalentLMS:

  1. 1 Only administrators and instructors can add and manage courses. Make sure that you logged in as an administrator or an instructor.
  2. 2 If you are an Administrator, select Courses on the main dashboard If you are an Instructor, select Courses on the right panel.
  3. 3 Add a new course, enter a course name and select Save course and add content to proceed with import.
  4. 4 Click on +Add and select the SCORM | Tin Can option from in the drop-down menu.
  5. 5 Enter a unit name and click on Upload a SCORM or TinCan ZIP file.
  6. 6 After a file has been imported, click on Save and view to preview the uploaded content item. Note that courses can be set to play in a popup (a new window) or in an iframe (on a page). This can be configured on Add SCORM | TinCan page. We recommend launching courses in a new browser window (popup).
  7. 7 Imported files will be seen on the Content page.
  8. 7 Here is a course launched by a learner.

How to generate reports in TalentLMS

  1. 1 Only administrators and instructors can review learners' progress and generate reports. Make sure that you logged in as an administrator or an instructor.
  2. 2 If you are an Administrator, select Reports on the main dashboard If you are an Instructor, select Reports on the right panel.
  3. 3 Select SCORM reports on the ribbon:
    • Administrator view (on the right-hand menu):
    • Instructor view (on the top ribbon):
  4. 4 General statistics for SCORM/TinCan items will be displayed.
    • Administrator view:
    • Instructor view:
  5. 8 Clicking on a SCORM package name, you will see how users progress with it.
  6. 9 To see detailed information about a user activity, click on View in the Operations column.
  7. 10 A popup with a user’s transcript will appear. Note the SCORM 1.2 specification does not allow to journal questions. That is why a question ID replaced the full question text.
  8. 11 To get an average transcript for a quiz, go to Analysis.
Additionally:

TinCan statements can be transmitted to an external LRS, which you can specify in the account settings: Learn more about How to track iSpring Tin Can API course statistics using Cloud SCORM.com. To use the TalentLMS endpoint, please contact the LMS vendor to get all necessary information and assistance.
